Our Story

It Started at Home

The Gathering Hub was founded by Julie and Phil Erickson. We first saw the need when we began homeschooling our five kids — and discovered a whole community of passionate educators running private groups in dance, theater, science, sports, humanitarian work, and more.

Every one of those groups faces the same challenge: finding a place to meet. Homeschool co-ops need classrooms. Performing arts groups need rehearsal rooms and stages. Scientists need labs. And because these educators teach for the love of it — keeping fees low so everyone can participate — renting a venue is often out of reach, let alone buying one.

That's why we founded The Gathering Hub: to create spaces where private, passionate educators can share their gifts with the community.

Vision

Empowering Educators,
Strengthening Communities

The Gathering Hub was founded on a simple belief: every educator, regardless of their organization's size or budget, deserves access to outstanding facilities. Private instructors, homeschool cooperatives, dance studios, and independent arts programs all produce extraordinary outcomes — yet rarely have access to the kind of spaces that allow those outcomes to flourish.

Located in Utah Valley, The Gathering Hub is currently fundraising to create state-of-the-art facilities across three categories — education, recreation, and the performing arts — to serve the full spectrum of educational experience.

As a non-profit organization, our goal is to keep costs low for individual educators, students, and community members. The space, equipment, and staffing we envision will open doors that would otherwise remain closed.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Every decision we make is guided by these principles — from how we design our spaces to how we serve our community.

Welcoming

Every educator and student deserves to feel at home. Our planned spaces are designed with warmth, accessibility, and inclusion at the forefront.

Educational

We believe in the power of learning at every age. Our vision for facilities is built to inspire curiosity, enable rigorous instruction, and celebrate achievement.

Connected

The Gathering Hub is a nexus — a place where educators, students, families, and community members come together and build lasting relationships.

Professional

State-of-the-art equipment, staffed labs, and well-maintained spaces will give educators the credibility and tools to deliver premium experiences.

Uplifting

We measure our success by the success of others. When students and educators thrive here, the entire community is elevated.

Modern

From smart boards to 3D printers to professional theater rigging, our vision reflects the best that contemporary education has to offer.

Our Community

Who We Serve

The Gathering Hub is being built to support a diverse range of educators, programs, and community groups throughout Utah Valley.

Homeschool Groups

Co-ops and independent homeschool families will have access to lab-equipped classrooms, science facilities, and group learning spaces rarely available outside traditional schools.

Dance Studios

Three professional dance studios will accommodate ballet, hip-hop, tap, ballroom, and other styles — with hardwood floors, mirrors, and barres throughout.

Independent Instructors

Private tutors, subject specialists, and solo educators will be able to rent classrooms of any size, from intimate five-student sessions to lectures for fifty.

Music & Performing Arts

Rehearsal rooms for bands and ensembles, private instruction studios, and full theaters — making The Gathering Hub the premier destination for performing arts education.

Science & STEM Programs

Our planned chemistry lab and 30-station computer lab — each to be staffed during operational hours — will enable hands-on learning that goes beyond what most independent programs can provide.

Community Theater & Events

Both the proscenium and black box theaters will be available for community productions, concerts, lectures, and special events when not in use for educational programs.
